- Click on License Manager
- Go to the “Offline” tab
- Click “Save Request” and save the deactivation file to your computer
- Email the saved request to: support@aquariodesign.com
- Go to a new finder window
- Go to the “AquarioDesign” folder
- Click on License Manager

- Open a new File Explore window
- Go to the “Windows (C:) drive
- Click on the folder “Program Files”
- Click on the folder “AquarioDesign”

This article explains how to deactivate an Aquario license on a machine. The license should be deactivated before wiping out or reimaging a computer, or to make an allowance when transferring an existing license to another user.
- Navigate to the License Manager tool.
- For Mac: Applications>AquarioDesign>LicenseManager
- For PC: C:/Program Files/AquarioDesign/LicenseManager
2. Open License Manager. Make sure you are in the “Online” tab.
- If you want to deactivate the license on this machine to temporarily give to another machine, but re-activate later, click Deactivate.
- If you want to completely remove the license from the machine, check off “Erase Key.” Then click Deactivate.
It should then say “License Not Active” in red at the top of the License Manager window.

If a license has to be changes from one user to another, it can be moved by deactivating on the current user's machine and then activated on the new one. If you see the tools installed in Illustrator but they are grayed out, most likely the Aquario Design license is not activated. For information about your Aquario Design subscription or assistance with activating your license please reach out to us at support@aquariodesign.com for support.
Aquario Design 5.0 consists of many new RSe features including a Design Bar. You will get a “license not active” prompt if you do not have an RSe license. You can still open and use the RS tool by going to Window – extensions – RS. For additional information and support, please contact contact@aquariodesign.com
Yes. Please reach out directly to contact@aquariodesign.com to be made a portal log in user. It will send an automated email with log in info and show you your current active users. For users with elevated permissions, it will allow deactivation functionality as well.
Before you reimage a computer, you should de-activate the Aquario Design license for that machine. The article “How To Deactivate an Aquario Design License” can help if you have not de-activated the license before re-imaging the machine. The license may not be active on the new machine and may still be on the old machine. You can deactivate the old computer from our online licensing portal if you have an account, or reach out to support@aquariodesign.com to have a support specialist help you manage your license activations. If Aquario Design is no longer installed on the new machine, you will have to re-install the software.

The Aquario Design software can be installed on a second machine to work from home, while traveling, etc. The license must be managed by the user.

The Design Bar and the modules within the list of tools under the Window>Aquario Design menu will be disabled in Illustrator when there is no active license for the tools. You can take the following steps to check the license: Launch Illustrator, Go to the Help menu, Aquario Design, License Manager. Make sure the correct license code is in the License Key section and Click Activate. Close and re-launch Illustrator. At the top of the License Manager tool, it may say “License not active” or “License expired” If the license will not activate, you do not have a license key, or the license has expired, please contact the team at support@aquariodesign.com
